What did you find most valuable and beneficial?
The opportunity to interact with alumni and employees before and after info sessions and coffee chats was incredibly valuable. Being the first MBA candidate they meet at Rice makes it easier to be remembered.

What did you most look forward to as an Ambassador?
I looked forward to having informal, friendly conversations with employees outside of structured events.

What was your favorite part of being an Ambassador?
My favorite part was engaging more deeply with the CDO and contributing to organizing events, all while proudly representing Rice’s brand.

Any other thoughts to share with potential Corporate Ambassadors?
Remember, this role is voluntary. While you can gain benefits from being a CDO ambassador, it’s essential to approach it with the mindset of serving the community and paying it forward. Additionally, the CDO will often make an effort to schedule you to work with a target employer, though this is not always guaranteed.

FT MBA – Class of 2025

What did you find most valuable and beneficial?
Participating in the Ambassador program was incredibly valuable because it allowed me to directly interact with employers and industry leaders. This exposure not only expanded my professional network but also gave me insights into what employers are looking for in potential candidates during those extra 15 minutes of conversation. It also opened my eyes to industries I hadn’t worked in or known about before. Plus, it gave me a kind of “first-hand practice” in networking early in the cycle, which was incredibly beneficial.

What did you most look forward to as an Ambassador?
As an Ambassador, I was most excited about the chance to help my peers connect with potential employers. Playing a part in organizing events that could lead to internships, job offers, and valuable professional relationships was incredibly rewarding. I also looked forward to building my own connections with professionals and peers, knowing that these interactions could help land that important interview or job opportunity.

What was your favorite part of being an Ambassador?
Knowing that my efforts helped bring students and employers together in a productive and engaging way was incredibly rewarding. Collaborating with the Career Development Office team and fellow Ambassadors was a fantastic learning experience that really built a strong sense of community. I loved just being there, chatting with people, learning about their experiences, and taking a break from thinking about assignments, case studies, or projects. Organizing events has always been something I enjoy, and the Ambassador program made it even more enjoyable without too much heavy lifting. What I appreciated most is that this program is built around us Ambassadors and truly for us.
