At Rice Business, we believe that preparing for a meaningful career includes more than just what you’re learning in the classroom and that’s why we’re launching Industry Weeks this fall. These immersive weeks are designed to connect students with industry professionals, alumni, and employers through a variety of in-person events and experiences.

Beginning in mid-September, Industry Weeks combine career education with hands-on learning and meaningful networking. Each week focuses on a specific industry and provides opportunities for students to deepen their understanding of career paths and company cultures.

We chose these industries based on what students are curious about and where additional support and information can make a real difference due to less formal recruiting timelines. Whether you are exploring a new industry or building on an existing interest, Industry Weeks are designed to help you grow your network and gain practical insights.

What You Can Expect

While the programming during each Industry Week varies, many include these signature events that bring real-world perspectives into focus:

Executive Fireside Chat and Panel
These candid evening conversations on campus allow students to hear directly from industry leaders about their career paths, leadership lessons, and market insights.
Career Treks
A Career Trek is a curated visit to companies in a specific city or sector. Students learn directly from professionals, explore workplace cultures, and get a clearer view of different career opportunities.
Alumni Recruiting Tips Panel
Recent alumni share their personal experiences and advice on the recruiting process. This panel is full of useful tips on networking, interview prep, and how to navigate key decision points in the job search.
