ESG ASSOCIATE, PEP CONSULTING
Pickering Energy Partners (PEP) is in a high growth phase with a recently launched consulting business and an energy transition market intelligence business, along with continued growth opportunities for its asset management
PEP is seeking a highly motivated individual for an ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Associate role in Houston. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a cross-functional team. This candidate needs to have a high degree of professionalism, personal and business integrity. Additionally, the candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to establish credibility with senior executives. The ideal candidate will also have a prior focus on financial services firms or energy companies.
Primary responsibilities
•Interface with clients to understand their business model, ESG profile, and respective challenges
•Communicate emerging ESG trends and topics to senior executives at PEP or outside
•Create infrastructure for clients to aggregate ESG data
•Wade through the depth and breadth of ESG data and identify what is material to clients
•Generate customized deliverables to meet client needs such as ESG reporting, green portfolio analysis, gapanalysis, and policy drafting
•Prepare clients for ESG-related due diligence during deal underwriting and evaluation
Specific qualifications
Required:
o 3-5 Years of experience in finance or energy
o Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited university in relevant field, or unrelated degree withdemonstrated progress towards industry accreditations (e.g., CFA, CPA)
o Proficiency in data analysis, and experience with Bloomberg or Refinitiv
o MS Office proficiency, expert at Excel
Additional qualifications:
o Proficiency in Coding (Python or R)
o In-Depth Energy Sector Knowledge
o Work or Certifications in ESG (CFA Certificate In ESG Investing or SASB FSA Credential)
o Intermediate grasp of ESG strategies and key issues
o Ability to work independently, with limited guidance and oversight
