Empower You Graduate Women’s Leadership Series

Empower You is a virtual series of events tailored for female MBA and LLM students who are looking to launch their careers in consulting following business school. This virtual conference will be held over the first three weeks in November, 2021 and candidates can select which sessions they would like to attend based on their interests. How to apply

Applicants will need to submit a resumé and a one-page essay on the topic below. Applications will be reviewed, and a limited number of students will be selected for an interview. All applicants will be notified if they are selected to attend our Empower You Leadership Series.

Essay topic: Purpose is an aspirational reason for being that is grounded in humanity and inspires action. In a 200-word essay, respond to the following prompt: “Describe a time when something or someone inspired you to take action that resulted in a positive change for yourself or others.”

Program overview

The 2021 Empower You Women’s Leadership Series is designed to lead, inspire and motivate future women leaders. The program is tailored for female MBA students and Tax LLM students who are looking to launch their careers in consulting or tax following business or law school. The program will provide participants with a forum to openly and candidly discuss important topics and obtain career coaching and advice from a network of peers and EY professionals who are all dedicated to encouraging and supporting the advancement of women in business and law.

Please note: Candidates who attend Empower You will receive early consideration for interviews. If you are invited to interview, they will take place following the conference.

 

Eligibility requirements

We are accepting applications from women who are either 1) entering their first year of a full-time MBA program and will be a member of the Class of 2023 (those in part-time MBA programs must be available to complete a summer internship in 2022 in order to apply) or 2) entering a LLM program in Taxation with a graduation date of spring/summer 2022 (those in a joint JD/LLM program are not eligible).

Preferred qualifications for MBA candidates:

►     3-5 years of prior work experience

►     Holds a significant interest in professional services and a career in consulting

►     Demonstrated characteristics of a forward thinker who thrives on new challenges

►     Contributes to a team environment and acts as a role model to motivate and inspire others

►     Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred qualifications for LLM candidates:

►     Holds a significant interest in a tax career at an accounting firm

►     Prior tax work or tax internship experience is a preferred

►     Demonstrated characteristics of a forward thinker who thrives on new challenges

►     Contributes to a team environment and acts as a role model to motivate and inspire others

►     Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
