Compensation: $20/ hour part-time. $7,000/ month full-time during the summer

Description: Mercury Fund is looking for an MBA Associate for the summer (with a request to start part-time as early as 1st March) to join our investment team. This position will play a critical role in supporting the firm’s research and development of new investment themes, deal sourcing and community building, due diligence efforts for potential new investments, and monitoring and supporting Mercury’s portfolio companies. This is a rare opportunity to build experience in venture capital. We subscribe to the apprenticeship model and are obsessed with leveraging local resources to build out the ecosystem. In this role, you will be mentored by a tight-knit team of investment and operations personnel who have built the largest VC platform in Houston and one of the largest in Texas.
Responsibilities for this role include: – Sourcing new early-stage investments by nurturing strong relationships with founders, investors and the broader VC community. – Assisting in all aspects of due diligence, including detailed customer and management references, market sizing and mapping, financial modeling, and industry research. – Collaborating with teammates to push fund thinking in key thesis areas. – Owning the Mercury brand in our startups ecosystems – Supporting continuous improvement of internal processes.
