Project Description
The Orion Program is expanding its use of data driven insights to improve decision making, meeting effectiveness, and overall program performance. This internship focuses on supporting data analytics, meeting process optimization, and dashboard development. The intern will assist with implementing Loop Agendas, reviewing meeting efficiencies, and supporting Power BI development, data management, and data architecture activities. The intern will collaborate with program specialists, engineers, and cross-functional teams to help streamline program operations through meaningful data and structured meeting practices.
Description of Task and Intern Responsibilities
The intern will:
• Implement and maintain Loop Agenda practices across Orion Program meetings to improve structure, follow through, and effectiveness.
• Capture, analyze, and report on meeting efficiency metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Support the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards for Orion leadership and working groups.
• Assist with gathering, organizing, validating, and managing data from various Orion functional areas.
• Contribute to data architecture planning, documentation, and improvement of data flow processes.
• Analyze trends, identify data quality issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand reporting or meeting needs and convert them into clear data products or process enhancements.
• Document data sources, dashboard logic, update schedules, and meeting process standards.
• Present analytical findings, meeting insights, and recommended improvements to stakeholders.
Preferred Skills and Proficiencies
• Basic to intermediate experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools
• Familiarity with data management concepts (cleaning, structuring, validation)
• Experience with Excel, SQL, Python, or other analytics tools is a plus
• Interest in meeting operations, facilitation structures, or process optimization
• Familiarity with AI tools or built in analytics automation features
• Ability to learn new tools, systems, and processes quickly
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working collaboratively in a technical environment
Preferred Academic Level
Undergraduate junior or senior, or graduate-level student
Preferred Majors
Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or other STEM fields with data focused coursework.
