This candidate will be an innovation practitioner in Fortive’s Growth Accelerator, ideally with previous experience as an ethnographer or business strategist in an innovation lab, growth accelerator and/or design and innovation firm. This leader will develop and deploy the growth innovation process at Tektronix, one of Fortive’s portfolio operating companies in order to accelerate organic growth. Furthermore, the Catalyst, Growth Accelerator will evangelize and teach this set of tools, process, and methodology to the entire organization. They will be instrumental in developing curriculum, teaching and mentoring other catalysts and guiding teams that will create new business ideas and revenue streams for Fortive’s operating companies.
This candidate will join Tek innovation teams on the Growth Accelerator Journeys: a process of immersive VOC and rapid experimentation. This candidate will play a vital role in building a culture of innovation and manage the creation of overarching insight, alongside a multi-functional team, that solves for Tek’s toughest growth challenges. The Catalyst, Growth Accelerator will balance a passion and deep understanding of ethnography or business strategy with the ability to execute and deliver extraordinary results.
~30% travel will be required, when travel resumes.
Candidate Profile: Catalyst, Growth Accelerator
The ideal candidate will have experience creating ethnographic insights or business strategies that deliver sustainable growth. Tek is seeking a candidate with a broad functional underpinning who has a demonstrated ability to derive insights from VOC and experimentation. The candidate must be an exceptional practitioner with a strong process and continuous improvement mindset as well as a passion for mentorship and teaching. The candidate will be action-oriented, open-minded with a strong competitive desire to win and to help others win. This person will inspire teams to achieve new levels of performance and will lead teams successfully through change processes, resulting in teams adopting new and better ways of doing things. Professional Background & Experience:
→ Previous experience as an ethnographer or business strategist in an innovation lab, growth accelerator and/or design and innovation firm. Experience in a Fortive or OpCo Growth Accelerator is preferred.
→ Experience mentoring and collaborating in a team setting to bring up capabilities in junior team members.
→ Executive presence and technical depth to function as a mentor/advisor and deliver training across Fortive Globally.
→ Experience building positive relationships with peers and senior leaders to ensure open communication and effective service
→ Challenge the status quo and consistently seek opportunities to innovate and re-engineer processes to improve Tek and
Fortive’s ability to innovate in the best way.
→ Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow junior team members.
→ Demonstrated ability to solve complex business challenges using VOC and experimentation, with a deep connection to the
consumer as well as a grounding in market, business and technical environments.
→ Bachelor’/Master’s degree in Business, Anthropology, Psychology, Marketing, Customer Experience, Design Thinking or related
→ Passion for Innovation – demonstrated interest and desire to participate in innovation through personal study, on-the-job
initiative, or other endeavors.
→ Ability to Deliver Results – track record for being able to take complex and vague business opportunities and apply a deeply
