The Company: You will be working directly with a founder who has built and scaled businesses, led large enterprise engagements, and operates actively in the venture ecosystem. He has co-founded a VC fund, has been a successful angel investor, and serves on multiple startup boards and advisory groups. He brings capital, investor access, and strong industry relationships, along with a track record of taking ideas into market and building real businesses. You will also be working with a recent Rice grad in strategy consulting and a Baylor finance major.
This is a chance to work closely with a team that moves quickly, expects high standards, and focuses on outcomes. You’ll get exposure not just to building technology, but to how real companies are shaped—how decisions are made, how opportunities are evaluated, and how products move from concept to market. If you want to build, learn fast, and be part of creating something from the ground up, this is that kind of environment.
The Role: Looking for a hands-on AI builder who can move quickly from idea to working product. This is a contractor role focused on developing and iterating on MVPs, integrating AI tools and models into practical workflows, and solving real business problems. You’ll be expected to ship—build prototypes, test ideas, refine based on feedback, and move to the next iteration. This is not a research role. It’s execution-focused, with a bias toward simple, functional solutions that can be demonstrated and used.
You should be comfortable working with ambiguity, making decisions without perfect information, and taking ownership of outcomes—not just tasks. Strong candidates have a track record of building things independently (projects, tools, side work) and can show what they’ve shipped, not just what they’ve studied. If you prefer structured environments, detailed specs, or waiting for direction, this is likely not the right fit. If you enjoy figuring things out, moving fast, and seeing your work used in the real world, you’ll do well here.
There is a clear path to a full-time role based on performance and alignment.
Ideal Candidate Profile: You’ve built things on your own—projects, tools, automations, or side products—and can show working examples, not just coursework. You’re comfortable working across the stack and using existing AI tools, APIs, and frameworks to get to a functional result quickly. You don’t wait for perfect specs—you ask the right questions, make decisions, and move forward. You take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks, and you care about whether something actually works in the real world. You’re resourceful, pragmatic, and willing to iterate quickly. If you’ve worked on applied AI projects, automation, or real-world problem solving outside of class or formal roles, that’s a strong signal.
