Experience and Education
Master’s degree in business or healthcare administration with one (1) additional year strategic planning, or related, experience in complex organizations. May consider additional experience in lieu of education.
Job Duties
Participates in multi-disciplinary planning projects; scope of responsibility ranges from ownership of a single project deliverable to a few discrete workstreams within a complex engagement
Demonstrates ability to perform analyses and make appropriate recommendations in the following domains:
Business plans for the Hospitals and Faculty Practice departments, including on-site and off-site locations, that include:
Recommendations for geographic expansion, revenue enhancement, or clinical distinction
Market analysis to evaluate competitive landscape
Relevant trends among important stakeholders (e.g., payer, provider, medical device, pharmaceutical, regulatory, etc…)
Historical and projected service and provider surplus/ deficit
Historical and projected demand for services (e.g., demographics, incidence/ prevalence of disease, top partnership needs, etc…)
Go-to-market strategy for new or expanding services
Volume and financial projections (including capital debt amortization and NPV analyses)
Risks, mitigation factors, and key performance indicators
Exit strategies if targets are not met within an acceptable timeframe
Service line and/ or program enhancement
Other high-priority projects, such as the evaluation of US News and & World Report’s Best Hospitals rankings including recommendations for improvement
Ad-hoc projects for the Hospitals and Faculty Practice departments, including on-site and off-site locations
Takes ownership of own professional development through the creation of professional development plans in consultation with the Manager
Develops and manages workplans to produce deliverables and meet target deadlines
Performs other duties as assigned

Successful candidates will have demonstrated capability in the following areas:
- Healthcare industry knowledge (including terminology, trends, emerging technologies, etc…)
- Critical thinking skills (able to “connect the dots” among various concepts when the connection in unclear)
- Business acumen (including market analysis, financial and operational modeling, due diligence, etc…) Communication skills (communicates clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing)
- Technical/ modeling skills (including Excel [formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot] and Access)
- Project management skills (including scoping, workplan development, and execution under a timeline)
