Each fall, the Alumni Mock-A-Thon program connects you with accomplished Rice Business alumni for dedicated, 1:1 mock interview sessions, so you can build confidence, sharpen your technique, and get honest feedback from people who know what hiring managers are looking for.

What to Expect

• 1:1 Virtual Experience: Connect with alumni via Zoom for a realistic, low-stakes interview simulation.
• Structured Feedback: Each 30-minute session balances time for behavioral interview practice with direct, constructive feedback from your alumni interviewer.
• Diverse Backgrounds: Alumni volunteers represent a wide variety of industries and functions. While schedules are organized by industry sector, your specific interviewer won’t be revealed until the day of.

Our Career Treks bring you directly into major business hubs across the United States, touring corporate headquarters, exploring emerging employment ecosystems, and building relationships with regional employers and alumni. Past treks have taken students to New York City (Week on Wall Street and NYC Treks), Austin, Seattle, and Silicon Valley (Technology Treks), and right here in Houston for Energy, Entrepreneurship, Healthcare, and Clean Tech experiences.

Launched in early 2024, Alumni in Residence pairs current students with accomplished alumni for informal, candid, one-on-one conversations about industries, leadership, and life after business school.

Participating alumni represent world-class organizations, including ExxonMobil, Amazon, Google, Deloitte, and Accenture, and volunteer their time specifically to invest in the next generation of Rice Business leaders. Sessions cover everything from day-to-day industry insights and recruiting strategies to long-term career planning and ways to make the most of your Rice MBA.
