Your Impact at SAM:
As the Financial Analyst, you will directly support the Chief Operations Officer with the production of management reports to office and market management as well as investor reporting and executive management. You will be responsible for the analytical review of all financial metrics across 45+ offices, service lines and markets. You will contribute to the planning and forecasting process by analyzing past and present financial data and presenting trending analysis to the management team.
- Analyze financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
- Build complex financial models that provide insight into strategic initiatives to be taken by Management, make recommendations to resolve issues and makes corrections, as necessary
- Develop financial models to review service, industry and territory profitability
- Assist in preparation and provide analysis on forecast accuracy (e.g. actuals vs. forecast), proactively identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with market leaders and operations to accurately budget and forecast revenue and costs; facilitating the budgeting and forecasting process for all internal business units/subsidiaries
- Participate in special projects to support strategic decision-making (e.g. what/if strategic analysis, business forecasting, new product P&L projections, etc.)
- Identify and track key performance metrics pertaining to business operations, industry and territory
- Participate in the preparation of financial PowerPoint presentations for Board meetings and monthly Financial Reviews
- Partner with team to analyze and update system reports, maintaining a high level of data accuracy, integrity and trouble-shoot errors
- Work closely with Accounting, Finance and Operations to produce monthly and ad-hoc reports
- Lead and/or participate in process improvement initiatives, document and transition final product to team members and CFO
- Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company’s strategic goals
What You Bring to SAM:
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Economics or relevant field
- MBA or MACC preferred but not required
- Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, Business Analyst or a similar relevant role
- Strong understanding of project cost accounting and related systems with preference of BST 10 and Microsoft Power BI
- Understanding of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
