Jessica Campbell
Executive Director
Jessica Campbell serves as Executive Director at the Rice Business Career Development Office. Jessica has been at Rice University since 2011, and previously led the employer relations team at the Rice University Center for Career Development, before transitioning into the MBA career center in 2019. Prior to Rice, Jessica worked in career services at the University of Houston and at a non-profit.
Jessica has been actively involved in several professional organizations, CSEA, where she currently serves on the board and previously co-chaired the Employer Relations Resource Group and Global Conference. Jessica has also been an active member of SoACE (Southern Association of Colleges and Employers) since 2007, where she previously served on the Board as Director, College Knowledge Groups, chaired the Annual Conference, the Employer Relations Knowledge Group and New Members Committee. Jessica previously served as President, Secretary, Texas Job Fair Chair and Professional Development Chair for HACCC (Houston Area Consortium of Career Centers). Jessica holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Houston.
Tiffany Stott
Director, Career Education and Advising
Tiffany Stott develops and implements instructional programming related to career development and the job search. Her goal is to assist MBA students in making informed career decisions and to prepare them for professional advancement. She provided individual counseling and assessment interpretation to Rice undergraduates, graduate students, post-docs, and alumni in her previous role at Rice University’s Center for Career Development. She also managed the student peer career advising group and their student blog. Stott is returning to the Jones Graduate School of Business where she started in career services and helped to develop the original online career course, Introduction to Career Management. Stott has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counselor education with an emphasis in higher education, both from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory assessments.
Marie Bergeron
Director, Experienced Hires & Alumni
Marie Bergeron serves as the director of career development for experienced hires – alumni and EMBAs – in Rice Business. She has enjoyed a long career in academia and career management consulting, including 25+ years in the areas of executive coaching, outplacement, entrepreneurship, and internal corporate career development. Ms. Bergeron’s prior experience as a career consultant included engagements as an executive coach and in strategy process facilitation, as an independent and as employee/contractor for large human resource consulting firms whose corporate clients are among Fortune 100 companies. Marie holds fellow practitioner status as a Certified Career Management Professional through ICCI and is certified in the MBTI and CareerLeader. She is active in professional activities and is professional development officer on the board of the Houston Chapter of Prospanica (formerly NSHMBA) and served as ex oficio board member for the GHWCC-Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the HBS Club of Houston, MBACSEA and NBMBAA. Marie holds a B.S. and an M.S. in education and counseling from Louisiana State University, as well as an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Tyler L. Hough
Director, Employer Engagement
Tyler L. Hough joined Rice Business in 2024 and he leads the employer engagement team, expanding strategic partnerships with industry leaders to create meaningful opportunities for MBA students and alumni. Prior to Rice, Tyler spent 15 years in Chicago, where he leveraged partnerships to enhance student success, workforce development, and educational access. He lead organizations and teams within areas of admissions, development, communications, and organizational strategy across a series of universities and nonprofits in Chicago.
Tyler’s research and presentations focus on experiential education, student development, and cross-functional collaboration in higher education. His leadership and innovative scholarship have been recognized with awards from the Rainbow PUSH Coalition and the Society for Experiential Education.
Tyler holds a MS in higher education policy from Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy, a BA in political science from Loyola University Chicago, and certificates in finance, project management strategy, and DEI from the University of Chicago.

Jennifer Applebee
Associate Director, Corporate and Employer Relations

Jennifer works as the Associate Director for Career Development for the recruiting and corporate relations team. Jennifer is responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with corporate recruiters that engage with the Career Development Office to hire Rice MBA talent.
Jennifer most recently worked at the University of Louisville as the Graduate Internship Manager in the College of Business. In this role, Jennifer was responsible for building and maintaining working relationships with partner companies for internship placements while also preparing the internship-seeking students for internships during their program, through resume reviews and mock interviews.
Jennifer is proud to call Erie, PA her hometown. She graduated from Penn State Behrend with a BS in Management in 2005 and from Colorado State University Global with a Masters in Human Resource Management in 2020.

Stefanie Engels

Stefanie Engels serves as the Associate Director of Career Development for the recruiting and corporate relations team. She is responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with corporate recruiters that engage with the Career Development Office to hire Rice MBA talent. Stefanie serves as the relationship manager to the Energy and Oil, and the CPG/ Retail industries. She strategizes with employers on best practices for building an on campus presence and brand awareness. She specializes in developing new relationships in those industries to bring more job opportunities to the Rice MBA community
Stefanie Engels joined as the office coordinator in the career development office in the Jones Graduate School of Business in 2019. She started her career in the US at Baker Hughes in HR and became a soft skills trainer in the training department. Having worked and lived in Germany, Spain, the UK, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait, she can insert her cultural and industry experience into the higher education environment and combine it with her passion to connect people.
Stefanie holds a M.A. in Culture, Language and Business Studies, focusing on the Hispanic culture, from the University of Passau, Germany.

Amy Pan
Associate Director, Corporate and Employer Relations

Amy Pan serves as the Associate Director, Corporate and Employer Relations at the Rice Business Career Development Office. In her role, she collaborates with corporate recruiters to develop branding and engagement strategies to increase their presence on campus and hire Rice MBA talent.
Before joining Rice Business, Amy was the Assistant Director of the Career Development and Training Center at The University of Hong Kong Business School. In this role, she maintained and developed corporate relationships, conducted career counseling sessions, and implemented career workshops. Amy started her career with PwC as an Associate at the New York office and later became a Campus Recruiter for PwC.
Amy holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from The University of Buffalo, and an MBA from The University of Hong Kong. Outside of Rice, Amy loves to spend time with her family, enjoys coffee, and always planning for the next family trip.

Ashley McTaggart
Senior Associate Director, Career Education and Advising
Ashley McTaggart is a senior associate director in the Career Development Office. She has a passion for helping MBA students achieve their goals by helping them realize their strengths and providing them with the confidence and skills they need to be successful in the job search process. Ashley started her career at Arthur Andersen and also spent time at Deloitte and EY serving in a recruiting and staffing function. She joined the CDO at Rice Business in 2007 as a recruiting coordinator serving both students and employers. Ashley moved to San Antonio and worked with undergraduates at Trinity University as a career advisor. After moving back to Houston, she joined the undergraduate Center for Career Development (CCD) at Rice University as an assistant director. Ashley returned to the CDO in 2018 and is thrilled to be working with MBAs and alums she developed relationships with over the years. She heads up the annual Week on Wall Street trek to NY and is the CDO liaison for the Healthcare Club. Ashley earned her Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of Mississippi and studied abroad in Montpellier and Aix en Provence, France.
Mariella de Alba Ortiz
Senior Associate Director, Career Education and Advising
Mariella De Alba is an associate director in the Career Development Office. She partners with MBA students to help them strategize their job search to meet their professional goals. Before career advising, Mariella assisted employers with their recruiting needs at Rice Business. She collaborated with companies to develop branding and engagement strategies to maximize their presence on campus. Mariella has over ten years of experience in career services.
Prior to Rice, she worked at the C.T. Bauer College of Business, where she taught career development, did instructional design and career coaching. She earned her undergraduate degree in Mexico from Tecnologico de Monterrey (ITESM) and her graduate degree from the University of Houston. Mariella has studied and lived in different countries and loves working with students from a diversity of backgrounds.
Rayna Anderson-Crier
Associate Director, Career Education and Advising
Rayna Anderson-Crier is a certified professional career coach who specializes in helping students turn their career goals into actionable steps. She brings with her a wealth of career advising experience from both public and private universities including Elon University, University of Houston, and Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business. She is returning to Rice having served as Talent Management Analyst for the Division of Development and Alumni Relations from 2015-2017 where she managed full-cycle recruiting and employee retention initiatives. In advising appointments, Rayna pulls from both her career coaching and recruiting background to help students take a more proactive approach in their job search, career planning, and professional development.
Rayna holds a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from Louisiana State University along with graduate coursework in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. She is trained to administer the MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory, and StrengthsQuest assessments and is a registered yoga teacher.
Gloria Ratliff
Associate Director, Career Education and Advising
Gloria Ratliff serves the Jones Graduate School of Business on the advising team. With an extensive background in human resources and counseling, she empowers students to become their very best. In her previous roles, she was a recruiter, trainer, and mentor. She graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology.
For Gloria, success means helping all students find their dream job upon graduation. She is also Society for Human Resource Management, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory assessment certified. She always practices an open door policy and encourages students to reach out.
Shelley Richard
Associate Director, Career Education and Advising
Shelley Richard is a licensed professional counselor with 10+ years of experience providing career counseling and coaching to students and professionals. She is passionate about working with individuals in career transition and is driven by student success. Shelley has coached hundreds of clients through the job search process from application to acceptance, including resume and LinkedIn profile development, personal branding, elevator pitch, networking, interviewing, job search strategizing, and salary negotiation. She has worked in community agencies, university career services, private practice, and with professionals transitioning into roles within tech. Shelley is passionate about empowering and motivating students in the career exploration and job search process.
Shelley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Texas State University. She is trained and experienced in administering the Myers Briggs and Strong Interest Inventory.
Troy Tabner
Associate Director of Communications and Events
Troy Tabner assists the Career Development Office as the Associate Director of Communications and Events. After serving Rice Business in the Office of Technology for seven years Troy now employs his project management skills, organizational strengths, events management experience, and engaging creative spirit in support of the CDO’s ongoing communication with their various stakeholders. By aligning with the Rice Business brand, Troy’s contributions and collaborations aid in realizing the CDO’s strategic vision and ongoing mission to serve the MBA community at Rice in achieving their career goals.
Troy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas El Paso and recently completed the Master of Liberal Studies program here at Rice University as well. Outside of Rice, Troy loves to spend his free time with his wife and son, and enjoys a variety of pastimes such as playing drums with his country band, painting, and expanding his collection of tchotchkes. Troy makes it a point to create time for the little things in life and joyfully finds purpose in connecting with others.
Paul Foley
Assistant Director, Career Education and Advising
Paul Foley serves as the Assistant Director for Career Education and Advising at the Career Development Office. In this role, he is responsible for developing and implementing career education programming for MBA students at all stages of the career planning and recruiting process. Before transitioning to the CDO, Paul spent three years supporting the Associate Deans of Degree Programs at Rice Business, an experience which fostered a passion for business school curriculum development and higher education administration.
Paul comes to Houston from his home state of Indiana, graduating with a Master’s Degree in History from the University of Houston in 2016. Outside of Rice, he enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and exploring Houston’s vibrant culture and food scene.
Mariel Cano
Administrative Operations Specialist
With a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in sociology, Mariel has experience in student affairs and student engagement through mentorship, intervention, research and educational programs. Mariel collaborated with the University of Texas for five years and joined Rice Business in December 2022. Her background has allowed her to participate in the development of programs focusing on student leadership and several programs designed to increase student participation. By implementing strategies that support students, Mariel is committed to provide her students with the necessary tools to succeed in higher education. Mariel’s research relies on inclusion, diversity and equity to be key factors to the pillars of current and modern leadership standards. Her thesis dissertation “Masculinity In The Kitchen: Gender Performance In The Culinary Arts Industry” reflects on it.
Emile Chamoun-Farah
Assistant Director, Recruiting and Employer Relations
Emile Chamoun-Farah serves as the Assistant Director of Recruiting and Employer Relations in the Jones Graduate School of Business – Career Development Office. Emile is responsible for overseeing and managing the career management platform, whose background will contribute to driving enhancements to the platform and further support employer relations. Specializing in crafting innovative training programs and cultivating meaningful connections, Emile’s expertise spans internal and external communications, data analysis, training and re-certification initiatives, internship program development, and public affairs. His results-driven and people-oriented approach ensures impactful outcomes.
Emile’s academic journey includes a Bachelor’s in Retailing and Consumer Sciences from the University of Houston and a Master’s in Global Affairs from the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University. His multicultural background and proficiency in both Spanish and English enable effective communication with diverse audiences.
Previously, Emile held the position of Internships Coordinator for Austin Community College District, overseeing over forty departments and programs. In this role, he trained and re-certified internship instructors, maintained communications with 1,300+ employers utilizing CRM software, and served on the TxCEIA Executive Board of Directors as V.P. of Marketing and Communications where he implemented a redesign of the website.
