Primary Purpose
Responsible for supporting development of LNG and Net-zero facilities, in North America. The LNG facilities typically represent investments ranging from $1 to $12 billion in value and may involve both infrastructure development and commodity procurement/marketing.
Responsibilities will include commercial analysis, market assessment, and general business development support of projects on at various stages of development in the capital value process.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Interface with disciplines on budgeting and scheduling, siting, permitting, supply, transportation, interconnection, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), project risk assessment and mitigation plans, and negotiations for financial closing.
- Will work extensively with other functions within the company, with third party companies including engineering firms, equipment suppliers, financial institutions, and with government agencies and community organizations.
- Coordinates/leads portions of project activities during development and ensures the capital value process is being followed and deliverables are completed as required by each stage gate.
- Provides general project business development support including seeking funding, managing project budget and schedule, and supporting marketing and commercial needs for third party interfaces.
- Performs other development responsibilities as needed, including preparation of reports, documentation, and management and stakeholder presentations.
- Supports the LNG Development team in the process of identifying and assessing business development opportunities in the region that fit Sempra’s LNG strategy.
- Conducts general economic and commercial project feasibility evaluations.
- Conducts market assessments and contract/commercial analyses.
- Provides support, as necessary, in the structuring and negotiation of key project agreements in areas such as supply, joint ventures, EPC, marketing, and financing.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

- Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Business, or related field. Required
- Master’s Degree MBA Preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years Energy industry experience with a minimum 8 years in project management/development. Required
- Prior experience in infrastructure development or commodity procurement/marketing of LNG, natural gas transportation, and/or power generation is most valued. Preferred

- This position is based in Houston, Texas or San Diego, California and may require domestic and international travel up to 10% of the time.
- Open to considering applicants with similar profile but with more experience at Senior Manager.
