As a Professional MBA student in the Evening, Weekend, or Hybrid program, you have access to a full range of career development services, including individualized career advising, workshops, networking events, an exclusive Rice Business job board, and curated resources designed for working professionals.
Professional MBA students come to Rice Business with a wide range of goals. You may be preparing for an internal promotion, pursuing greater leadership responsibility, transitioning into a new function or industry, or exploring entrepreneurship. Wherever you are headed, the Career Development Office can help you clarify your goals, evaluate your options, and develop an individualized strategy for moving forward.
Your MBA experience also gives you an opportunity to apply new knowledge and skills within your current organization. By connecting your coursework with your professional goals, you can strengthen your impact, position yourself for advancement, and communicate the value you bring to your employer and broader network.
For students interested in making an external transition, the CDO also provides support with career exploration, networking, job-search strategy, interview preparation, and employer and alumni connections.
Because the Professional MBA recruiting timeline differs from our full-time programs, we’re here to help you build a career strategy that aligns with your goals. During your second year, you’ll have full access to industry events and job postings through our 12twenty portal.
If you’d like early access to recruiting resources during your first year, you’ll need to complete the CDO Async Career Toolkit for Working Professionals, a self-paced career preparation course available in Canvas. Important Information for PMBA Hybrid Students: Due to the program’s July start date and the timing of the second immersion, Professional MBA – Hybrid students are not eligible to participate in internship recruiting. Students interested in pursuing investment banking should consider the Full-Time MBA program.
